Summer is finally in full swing and with the new warm month comes many new things to do. We have created a list of events occurring over the next 4 weeks that may help fill your free days. Enjoy!

1. Enbridge Canoe For Kids

This one is for the whole family! At Mooney’s Bay Beach there will be an event by Enbridge that will include different activities, yummy treats and many other things, all while raising money for Christie Lake Kids, an organization that offers development programs for young people who are underprivileged. It is a great chance to have some fun with your family while giving back at the same time.

 2. Rural Connections Meet & Greet (June 9th)

It’s time to network! If you are looking to get your name out there in the business world, this is the event for you. Rural Connections is a chance to talk to other professionals and share what you have to offer. Tickets are free- just make sure to register in advance!

3. Indie Craft Fair (June 13th)

Interested in crafts? Come check out the Indie Craft Fair at Carleton University. There will be one of a kind pieces for sale and you will get the chance to meet individuals with unique talents in relation to the arts.

4. TD Ottawa Jazz Festival (June 19-July 1)

For those who absolutely love music, the TD Ottawa Jazz Festival is coming for just under 2 weeks to our beautiful capital city. There are some AMAZING groups coming to perform (such as my favorite from the line up, The Roots!) Make sure to get your tickets in advance before they sell out!

5. Ottawa Free Market (June 30th)

Looking for some new things? Want to get rid of some of your old ones? Come out to the free market on Montreal road, you will have 7 hours to shop around and you might just find something you didn’t even know you wanted!

6. Ottawa Ribfest 2015 (June 17 – 21)

You don’t want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to sample some of the best BBQ chicken and ribs that both teams from Canada and the United States have to offer. This festival will occur on Sparks street, where everyone is sure to get together and enjoy deliciously grilled meat. For more information, visit the official website of Sparks Street.

7. Tim Horton’s Ottawa Dragonboat Festival (June 25 – 28)

The 22nd Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival will take place June 25th – 28th, 2015 at Mooney’s Bay Park.  Top fundraising teams will compete in the Carmello’s Charity Challenge Cup races held at 8:00pm on June 26th. Racing takes place June 27th and 28th. If you would like to compete, make sure you get your tickets from the official website of the Tim Horton’s Ottawa Dragonboat festival, but if you would simply like to watch, make sure you save the dates of the festival and get ready for a visually appealing experience.

8. FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 (June 7 – 26)

This year, the FIFA women’s world cup will be hosted in Canada where the best female soccer players in the world converge in Canada for the world championships. For Ottawans, you simply do not want to miss this incredible opportunity to watch live soccer in your city. Make sure you grab your tickets from the official website of FIFA Women’s world cup.
