Feel the Fury is the chant you hear in the stadium amongst Ottawa Fury FC faithfuls that filled up the seats of the TD Place stadium on April 22nd. For a game that had been significantly anticipated against Toronto FC II after a 6 month long hiatus, everyone was anxious for a win by Ottawa’s premier soccer team.
The day kicked off cloudy and chilly but with the high energy in the stadium and as the Fury team made their appearance on the field, the clouds parted as if to welcome them back for an exciting season. With penalty calls, crosses and shots that didn’t register on the net, the game concluded at the 90+4 minute mark with a tie.
It was arguably one of the most nerve racking Fury games and the anticipation alone as the faithfuls cheered on their home team was enough to fuel the Fury team to come back stronger, hungrier than ever.
Fury FC will hit the road again next weekend with a fixture against the Charleston Battery scheduled for next Saturday, April 29th, before returning to TD Place on May 3 to host FC Edmonton in the Canadian Championship.
