The Ottawa Loft Gala will bring together a wide range of community and industry leaders from fashion, arts, and entertainment to sports and politics.
“After a successful first season, we are thrilled to present the Loft Gala 2016. We have amazing talent coming this year and it’s going to be a night to remember. As with last year’s event, all proceeds will go to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, a foundation which is very close to me” said Bruno Racine, CEO of the Loft Salon and Chair of the Loft Gala.
This year’s inspiration is the big band/jazz scene of the 40’s and 50’s. We are proud to announce an exciting array of talent including:
Sophie Milman, a world-renowned and Juno Award winning jazz artist who is sure to captivate the audience with her impeccable voice and sublime interpretive skills;
Eyal Zimerman, a fashion designer from Tel Aviv, Israel, known for his evening haute couture gowns and wedding dresses. Eyal’s stunning designs are based on his implicit understanding of the female form. He is creating a unique line specifically for the 2016 Loft Gala;
The Stan Clark Orchestra, an 18-piece big band ensemble, named for their beloved bandleader Stan Clark; with roots that date back to the 1970’s this orchestra performs a repertoire of classics including Count Basie, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, and Benny Goodman;
Yaa-Hemaa, an Ottawa-based pianist, singer/songwriter and storyteller is an artist to watch with her serene yet powerful voice, and intelligent, thoughtful lyrics.
More announcements to come, stay tuned for details!
“As an entrepreneur in Ottawa, it has always been a priority to give back to my community. After 11 successful seasons of Ottawa Fashion Week, I wanted to keep the spirit alive and create an event that continues to showcase fashion as art, and present it alongside talented musical performers in a beautiful setting. We accomplished that last year and are very excited to do the same this year” said Bruno Racine.
