This past Thursday a couple of friends and I decided to go for dinner in the Byward Market. After walking past multiple restaurants in the very cold weather, we stumbled upon The Real Sports Bar & Grill. We walked in and were seated right away at a table overlooking the lounge area, which was dim yet lit up by the brightness of the large bar.

After ordering our drinks, we decided upon their specialty appetizer: Cheeseburger Spring Rolls.

It may sound daunting, but they were absolutely delicious. What could be better than ground beef and cheese deep-fried in a spring roll?

While we waited about ten minutes after our appetizers for our meals, we watched the Ottawa Senators play the Washington Capitals on probably the biggest screen that I have seen in a restaurant in my life. There were a ton of groups of friends at the restaurant, all enjoying food and drinks while taking in the game.

Before we knew it, our food had arrived.

We tried 3 different dishes that all proved to be super tasty.

1. The BBQ Chicken Burger

This grilled chicken burger had melted American cheddar and a special thin BBQ sauce, topped with lettuce and tomato. It came with a side of fries and ketchup for dipping.

2. The Grilled Chicken Swiss Panini

This pressed sandwich had garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, and provolone cheese. On the side are some specialty garlic fries that were super crispy.

3. The Buffalo Chicken Tenders

A staple if you ever go to a bar/restaurant but with a twist, these buffalo chicken tenders were coated in a spicy coating and served with a ranch dipping sauce. On the side are garlic fries and a side of mayo for dipping.

After eating our meal and paying our bill, we spent about an hour just chatting and enjoying the atmosphere. The Real Sports Bar & Grill is a great place for those who wanted to just have a relaxing time and take in a game with their friends. The service was great and the food was no different.
