It’s finally the heart of the summer and of course as the weather continues to get better and better, so do the events! Check out the list below for ideas of what you can take part in this month in the capital city.
1. Canada Day (July 1)
Canada’s Capital is the place to be on July 1st for the country’s biggest annual birthday celebration. It’s a giant patriotic party on the lawns of Parliament Hill, Major’s Hill Park, Jacques Cartier Park and on the closed streets of downtown. 2. RBC Bluesfest Festival (July 8-19)
Calling all music lovers! RBC’s Bluesfest Festival has returned! There will be more than 220 musical acts and the festival is sure to be an exciting experience for all who attend. You can get your tickets and find more information about the different musical acts on the official website of RBC Bluesfest Festival.
3. Ottawa Lebanese Festival (July 15-19)
Ottawa’s Lebanese Festival is a great opportunity for anyone looking to experience the Middle Eastern culture through food, dance and celebration. The event is free and will be taking place for 5 days only so make sure to check it out while it’s around. You can find out more on the festival’s website.
4. Ottawa Chamber Festival (July 23- August 6)
The Ottawa Chamber Festival is an exquisite showcase of music that is sure to give you goose bumps. There are different concerts you can attend and you can get your tickets on the Chamber Music Festival’s website.
5. Ottawa Makers Market (July 11)
Every month in Ottawa, local artists showcase their work to the public, whether it be through music, paintings, sculptures etc. There is no cost to visit the market, however there is an optional donation entry fee and every donation goes to local charities.
6. Capital Ribfest (July 30-August 2)
For the foodies out there, this one’s for you! Capital Ribfest (the name being self-explanatory) will offer you great food, great entertainment and a chance to meet some new people! Check out Capital Ribfest’s website for more information.
