Hey lovely humans,

The month of September has rapidly creeped up on all of us. “oh hey September….I was definitely not expecting you, what up?” Now that we are leaving behind flip-flops, sun-screen, cold drinks, and pool-side chills, we are entering a realm of autumn leaves, chilly fall days, sweaters, and lots of pumpkin spice flavoured stuff. Although September brings with it a bunch of new season stress, there are several things to look forward to– rooting yourself accordingly and getting on track is one of them. 13912538_10206796035687223_1429983420548708366_n

When I look at the picture of this flower that I passed by a couple months ago, I think of how necessary it is to plant ourselves carefully in order to grow strong roots, and then grow into something so positively unimaginable. We all must plant ourselves into this new season properly in order to reach our full given potentials, able to blossom and flourish. 

Last year, when I first entered university, I was an absolute mess, unable to comprehend what was going on, extremely unprepared for my classes and the hard work that was ahead of me. I learned later on that year that the stress I had allowed myself to physically and mentally feel was not worth it.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10) 

This verse reminds me that in the midst of my fear and weaknesses, God undoubtedly has my back and will uphold me with his everlasting and never-ending love, grace and mercy. When you freak out, stop and think about how God wants to comfort you.

“So you are telling me that God is with me even when I am experiencing stress and anxiety? He is with me all the time?”

Yes my friend, that is correct. He is always with us, and the sooner we realize, the sooner the negative energy and thoughts disperse, never to return into our lives again. Do not welcome stress, anxiety, fear, etc. Tell those negative emotions to leave and never to come back!

YOU ARE NOT YOUR ANXIETY. YOU ARE NOT YOUR STRESS. YOU ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS.

You are a warrior! You have so much strength, and you must tune into that strength, and use it. This month is not going to be easy– heck, we are all just trying to adapt and get back into the groove of things. You are able to bring yourself back into a healthy environment where you can collect your thoughts and plan for greatness. Treat yourself with the uttermost respect– you are your longest commitment in life (haha, obviously). You deserve all the joy and love in the world, so start treating yourself that way.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27) 

 Champion yourself. Set realistic goals. Get back on track. You will have a fabulous year only if you take time this month to properly equip and plant yourself into this new season of yours. Things will not always go according to your plan, but you must use every tough situation this season to learn and grow.
